Career Employ-ability Services

Our research based Career Enjoyability workshops assist youth through career exploration, resume writing, interview skills, marketing skills, labor market information, job search assistance, job application assistance and job retention tip, money management and conflict resolution.. GRCN's Career & Employ-ability Training Course (CET) is our 12-week intensive course designed to assist youth develop the skills needed to enter into the workforce, using the performing arts as our primary form of instruction. 

Mentoring

Mentoring is a face-to-face, one-on-one contact between the client and an adult as an eligible CARE provider. 

Drug & Alcohol Substance Abuse  - Our program is designed to address the causes and effects of substance abuse and assist participants in developing the coping skills needed to lead sober, productive lives.

Sex Education & Teens - Our Sex Education Program is about helping young people's develop skills so that they make informed choices about their behavior, and feel confident and competent about acting on these choices. 

GRCN sex education program aims to reduce the risks of potentially negative outcomes from sexual behavior, sexual remarks and innuendos and other topics such as unwanted or unplanned pregnancies as it relates to male and females. Our program will also address infection with sexually transmitted diseases including HIV. It also aims to contribute to young people’s positive experience of their sexuality by enhancing the quality of their relationships and their ability to make informed decisions over their lifetime while discouraging inappropriate language and other negative behaviors that occur in adolescents.  Sex education that works, by which we mean that it is effective, is sex education that contributes to both these aims thus helping young people to be safe and enjoy their sexuality.

Sex education that works also helps equip young people with the skills to be able to differentiate between accurate and inaccurate information, and to discuss a range of moral and social issues and perspectives on sex and sexuality, including different cultural attitudes and sensitive issues like sexuality,

Using content standards and working draft benchmarks, our program uses a three-prong approach to assist youth choose a career and develop a plan to become successful throughout their lives.  We help participants gain a better understanding of how to become employable, find a job or choose a career.  Once our participants learn how to make money, they are taught the basic fundamentals of saving, managing and investing their income.   

Our unique approach using the performing arts, addresses many topics our at-risk youth need help with, including employment and job communication skills.  From acting as an employer leading a round-table discussion at a fortune 500 company to a job seeker on an interview, participants role-play to build confidence and communication skills.

Theatrical Social Behavior Modification - This program is an introduction to the world of theater and teaches appropriate behaviors needed to interact in social and business settings. Using the Content based standards for Drama our classes are entertaining and educational. Participants start learn hand on from concepts to live production.

 Parenting - Our 12-week evidence based parenting program offers mothers and expecting mothers an opportunity to develop healthy parenting skills.
